Burj Al Arab Hotel

Burj Al Arab hotel in Jumeirah, Duabi, United Arab Emirates, is not only one of the world’s most luxurious hotels, but it also hosts the world’s highest tennis court.  The hotel’s helipad was temporarily converted into a 4500 sq ft grass tennis court in preparation for the Dubai Duty Free Men’s Open.  The tennis court has a spectacular view, 692 ft above ground, overlooking the Arabian Gulf and all of Dubai.  Andre Agassi and Roger Federer, as pictured, had the great opportunity to play a couple practice games and enjoy the view.

In Tachikawa, Tokyo, Japan at Fuji Kindergarten complex, Tezuka Architects completed “Ring Around a Tree”.  It’s a simple concept, but charmingly hugs a prominent 50 year old Japanese Zelkova tree, yet functions as foreign language classrooms, play area, and space for the children to wait for the bus.
